Would you like a credited photograph of yours to be seen in countless countries around the world?

Marple Promotions in co-operation with The Marple Website are running a competition to find new pictures for their 2011 Marple & Mellor Calendar to help raise money for local charity New Horizons.

For the first time ever we invited local photographers to submit their own pictures to be considered for inclusion in our 2010 calendar. Some great contributions from Nick Sheldon and Svetlana Roberts made the final selection and we’d like to thank them for helping us to raise £500 for New Horizons, the Narrowboat for the Disabled Charity based at Marple Wharf.

We’ve decided run the competition again for our 2011 calendar, so your contributions could help us to raise money for New Horizons for the second year running.

Web Design, Hosting and Advertising

Marple Promotions is able to offer a selection of web design, hosting and advertising opportunities geared towards local businesses, community groups and charitable or non-profit making organisations. These range from a banner advert and business card page on The Marple Website to the full design and hosting of a Content Management System (CMS) driven site like this one.

About Marple Promotions

Marple Promotions was formed in 2002 by The Marple Website founders Mark Whittaker and Peter Clarke, along with friend and fellow local history enthusiast John Wilkinson. We realised that despite all Marple has going for it there was little effort made to promote the town either as a tourist attraction, or in any other way.

We decided to try and do something about this and our objective was to develop ways to raise the profile of Marple and promote the town and its assets to the wider world. We also wished to gain interest in and support for the preservation of what is left of Marple's heritage.

We've achieved some of our objectives with the production of a range of local products, The Virtual History Tour of Marple, and of course The Marple Website itself. We felt it was now time to promote our activities further with this upgraded Marple Promotions web site to showcase our products and the web services we can provide.
